KAMARA

It is the largest (60 sq.m.) and the most spacious room of our guesthouse with access to the shared courtyard. It features an old traditional double wrought-iron, a sofa bed, a fully- equipped kitchen, bathroom, a fireplace and all the necessary amenities. It can accommodate up to four people.

The room is named after the imposing stone arch (“kamara” in Greek) that stands in the middle of the room, an element that was carefully preserved during the restoration of the building. The arch is a characteristic architectural feature of old traditional houses in Cyprus. It is the oldest structure of our guesthouse, which according to our information it was built around 1870. In the old days it was a place for the family to gather during the festive days and to have fun, and also it used to be a small guesthouse for workers in the village, a barber shop and more.
